For the same weekend as the Bahamut was made (in 2009), I made these two costumes from the Square Enix Game “The World Ends With You.” They are the characters “Koki Kariya” and “Uzuki Yashiro.” everything was made by me (except the wig and boots, which were cut/painted by the Yashiro costume wearer).
These are images of a “Bahamut” costume (from Final Fantasy VIII) with working wings. As you can see, some of the photos show the process of making the costume. The tail links were counted out to ensure that the tail had the precise and proper number of links. The head and neck were made by a friend.
The other young lady wanted a school girl uniform with horns to look like “Lum” From “Urusei Yatsuri.” This is what I made for her.
For the night of Halloween 2008 I made a Sweeney Todd costume for myself and a Mrs. Lovett costume skirt for my friend.
Two young ladies approached me for anime themed costumes, one of them wanted the cat costume from azumanga daioh. I made the whole costume but can only find a picture of the head. This is what one of them got.
For Halloween 2008 I made this “Rorschach” costume (from Watchmen) for a short person. It had a two layer mask so that you could change the pattern by simply rotating the outer mask (though it didn’t photograph terribly well here).
For Halloween of 2008 I dressed as Jabba the Hutt, pictured above. It was difficult to try and make him big enough to look right, but small enough to fit into the space where the event was. When I raised him to full height, he was scaled to be as tall as in the film based on his height next to Harrison Ford. The red eyes were painted flower vases stuck into the paper mache skull. The mouth and, as you can see, tongue worked.
